Intermediate Squad is the transition squad after graduating from Junior Squad and generally sees swimmers aged from 11-13 years. Intermediate swimmers are introduced to more racing elements than they faced previously in Juniors. In simple terms, it is a competitive squad for swimmers looking to target more races and/or expand on their fitness, whilst fine tuning technique where necessary. Swimmers are also introduced to bodyweight ‘Land Training’ prior to most swim sessions to further increase their performance and lessen the risk of injury whilst swimming. Although it is considered as a competitive squad, swimmers still have many opportunities to socialise and have fun with their squad mates. Both Intermediate and Senior Squads train together, with altered sets to accommodate for the abilities of Intermediate swimmers.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED – All swimmers must have their own:

• Water bottle
• Gear bag
• Kickboard
• Short Fins
• Pull-Buoy
• Snorkel.
